Rumelihisari Rumeli Castle
Rumelihisari (Rumelian Castle) has been placed on the best point of the Bosporus which connects the Black Sea to Marmara Sea. The castle has been constructed by the commands of Fatih Sultan Mehmet in 1452, one year before the conquest of Istanbul. It has been constructed by the hardworks of thouands of soldiers and only the great fortress have taken 3 months of the soldiers. By the installation of this fortress, the Ottomans had obstructed the aid coming to the Byzantine from Black Sea, and taken the Bosporus traffic under control. Rumeli castle is one of the most places of the Bosporus, it exhibits a wonderful view and the Bosporus are watched in a different looking of view from this castle.
