Kusadasi settlement has taken its name from the small gulf where it has been located in. This touristical place located in just opposite of Samos Island and has a nice panoramical view with the attribution of the small islands surrounding it.
It has been formed a very important place for tourists in Aegean Region. The house of the Virgin Mary which is on Bulbul Mountain surrounding the city and the remnants of archaic cities such as Efes, Milet, Didymes, Pirene has trasformed Kusadasi into an important touristical area. Kusadasi is like a tourism heaven with its beaches, high quality restaurants, hotels and holiday park resorts and marina. Its fortress is still in a good condition today which had used by Ottoman admiral Barbaras in XVI. Century A.C.
It has a mosque and a caravanserai that they have been constructed by command of Okuz Mehmet Pasa in 1618 and these very interesting historical buildings are to be visited.
